How it all began…
Founded in 1978 by Steve and Jackie Gronsky, Gronsky’s Milk House has been serving the community with heart, hard work, and hometown charm for nearly five decades. Before opening the Milk House, Steve served in the Army, played professional baseball, and later worked as a milkman for Welsh Farms, a job that inspired both his love of community and eventually the name of the business itself. Jackie, while busy taking care of their 3 children (Sheryl, Todd & Troy) originally operated a dance studio in the very same building. She taught dance for many years until a back injury from a car accident sadly forced her to step away.
Inspired by one of Steve’s favorite local ice cream parlors and a dream of creating a welcoming place for families and friends to gather, the Milk House was born. What began as a beloved ice cream shop expanded in 1988 when Steve and Jackie added a restaurant serving breakfast and lunch, creating a place where generations of families would continue to make memories together.
Known throughout the community for their kindness and genuine love of people, Steve and Jackie built far more than a business, they created a hometown tradition. Over the years, countless customers who visited the Milk House as children have returned with children and grandchildren of their own, making the Milk House part of family traditions across generations.
As Steve and Jackie grew older and faced health challenges, their son Todd stepped in to carry forward the legacy they worked so hard to build, alongside his sister Sheryl, who continues to help run the business today. And now the third generation, their grandson Tyler, is involved in strengthening the foundations laid before he was born. Together, they have remained committed to preserving the warmth, quality, and sense of community that have made the Milk House so special for nearly 50 years. Steve and Jackie are deeply missed by all who knew them, but their spirit continues to live on in every smile, every memory, and every family that walks through the doors of the Milk House.
As we look ahead to celebrating 50 years in business in 2028, we remain proud to continue the legacy they started and grateful for every customer who has been part of the journey.
